Its fun to listen to, since the taste is more "real" than much of the industy music.

I love making music and have just brought my recording gear to my new place so I can start recording my ideas again.

This was a tune I wrote to mark my second year living in Qatar: a pretty shitty country with a lot of desert but not a lot of culture.

Its kinda tricky, but possible Gust gotta get more comftable with singing the high stuffs in english, but the rest goes kinda well imo.

Are you schooled in music?

I studied music at university but it was mainly theoretical rather than practical (criticism, analysis etc. a bit like doing a Literature degree). I taught myself to play guitar and just like to play around and figure out how to do new things.

Whats the strangest instrument you've been goofing with?

I have been playing at play an autoharp for the past few years.

The good- As an instrument I love playing it. Against my chest and ear it is like I am part of the instrument.

he bad- feel like I spend more time tuning than playing because I play with vigor.

There is a guy who released a carbon fiber body harp a couple of years ago that stays in tune for days and I want one but it starts around 3 grand so I want one in a while.

Dude, that stuff's great! You should get in touch with some video game developers because I think your music would be perfect for some of the games coming out at the moment. There are loads of indie developers who need music for games and apps so DO IT! Email your stuff around and I can almost guarantee somebody will be interested in using it.

Soundcloud is good for shorter content like songs. But does anyone know about shoutcast? I'm working on putting together a radio show with my co-host Amari. We have a podcast called High Dias and we tried soundcloud at soundcloud.com/highdias, but we maxed out on space (our podcasts are LONG). We just started a shoutcast at http://listen.shoutcast.com/highdias. We're in the process of working on the main site, http://highdias.com. For the radio show though we will be playing any music we like from our friends. Invitation extends to ninja fam of course! If you want to hear the podcast we have most of season one uploaded to http://highdias.podomatic.com and some on youtube at https://youtu.be/Ao4FzXrS14w. We have a lot of content we're brewing for season two and side projects like Burrito Assassin Skate Squad (B.A.S.S.) and the Munchie Cookbook. For some reason my first reaction is that I want to play Call of Duty stoned while listening to this.

I want to make things. Since the clarinet and alto saxophone are rather silly instruments for small combos and solo work (in my opinion), and also happen to be the only things I play, I'm thinking about doing really simple bars, doing a little bit of weird percussion, and playing with them in Audacity. As far as wind instruments go, you can't really just pick them up after years of not playing and get that "just like riding a bike" effect. Embouchure and breathing control have to be practiced back into shape. Trying to get into a routine so that practice isn't so damned elusive.

I miss online radio. Back in the late 90s when I did this ridiculous internship as a high school student for the local tech bust company in our town, one of the money makers was hooking up an FM tuner to a server and streaming a radio station on their website. Everybody was SO IMPRESSED but it wasn't a huge technical feat. Maybe that Shoutcast can be what I listen to driving and working since I do many hours of both. In any case if I get my shit back together maybe I can contribute?

I used to play violin, guitar, mandolin, and double bass but age plus accidents have both played a toll on left hand dexterity and strength. Truth is I am more of a singer than instrumentalist at this point. A few glasses of red and I will find myself blasting out songs.

I spent the psychedelic 70's doing a folk duo with a highly gifted auto harpist. I remember sitting smoking while he worked to build heirloom quality instruments on our kitchen table. We usually went to gigs with 1/2 a dozen auto harps 3 mics and an amp. We'd make it through 1/2 a set before he had to switch harps because of getting played hard. We'd get to venues at least an hour early to let the harps acclimate to the room then tweek the tuning with a tuning fork and a pitch pipe. We booked as Lady Beth and Capt Zap. Mike looked like the guy on the zig zag pack.

About 5 years ago I bought an old shit autoharp and started to play in part to restore strength and flexibility after a hand accident. It is very joyful but I do get frustrated with the constant re-tuning. I can noodle for hours. I am certainly better than the old grammar school music teachers but I am no where near pro.

sup, Charmosa? I do make my own music but haven't done anything in a while... at first, I was just going through some heavy stuff and then a lot of time passed and my hardware was out-of-date. I guess I just went back to my guitar and physical instruments. I just bought a new machine and am currently in-progress of copying over 50GBs of data over. After that, I think I'll start getting back into it again.
