Super busy from Memorial day to Labor day. Then slows down to weekends and weekly leaf peepers into Fall. Seasonal or longer term occupancy thereafter depending on revenues.

Summer is VERY busy. We are looking for someone who is willing to work or cover hotel 7 days/nite a week (yes you do get some time off but need to cover during our busy season). You will hire a part time front desk back up person and summer maid staff (or J 1 Students) to help with turnovers.

There is manual labor involved in this job. If staffers can not handle the busy turnover than you may need to clean a bathroom, empty trash, strip a bed or 4. Our handy part of the team needs to cover repairs, like toilet issues, broken fridge/air conditioner units, run to get extra supplies or call painter, lawn man, or pool man to fix this or that....etc...

We do plan to close for a couple of months in the winter. BUT when and how long depends on if we achieve or hopefully surpass our income projections.

House is included in compensation and is large, has new wood flooring, deck, 3 bedrooms plus large kitchen and garage. All expenses and utilities of the house, are included in compensation. So FREE Housing (but you do work for it) is provided and it is nice! A monthly salary is also paid along with a cell phone, gasoline and bonus tied to room revenues.

While it may not begin as Supervisory, we are intentionally looking for a couple to move quickly into Department Supervision/Management. This would entail overseeing all areas of Housekeeping/ Deep Cleans/ Upkeep of Units as well as systems & areas in Back of Restaurant-dishes, supply ordering, Laundry, Restrooms and Shower areas and Maintenance areas as well. (Once promoted to Supervisory you will be responsible for the Housekeeping team of approxmnately 4-5 other staff members)

Specific areas: Daily cleaning and upkeep of:

YURTS
Massage Room
Restrooms
Deep cleaning Yurts & Restrooms
Supply ordering and restocking
.Training new staff.
Three night time DIsh shifts
Deep Clean of Back of Kitchen.
Daily Maintenacne which includes shuttling guests, helping with luggage, filling propane tanks, stripping beds and trash removal
Manage recycling station.
Laundry area includes processing all linens, folding, spotting, and oranizing cleaning supplies..
Must be willing to:

work outdoors in all types of weather and inside units that can get hot inside depending on season
Stand on concrete kithcen floor for 5-6 hour shifts when assisting in Dish Area or Laundry.
Lift up to 25 lb, using proper bending and lifting techniques
Lift & carry vacuums, trash cans propane tanks, brooms, ladders, bags of linen, caddies of supplies, bus trays full of dishes etc
Stack firewood.
Walk up and down many stairs in a day and navigate hilly pathways
Will be trained to drive a golf carts..
be trained to be part of night time Incident Responder team...if needed to be on call on selective dates or days whilest owners off sight
assist and be on call some nights (paid as piecemal work) to halp check guest in by driving golf carts, carrying luggage, greeting and showing them around facility
BRING us your eco ideas! we are always looking for ways to grow in sustainability.
You will be scheduled to work the same five days, although the timing of the shifts each day may not be synchornized. Meaning one person may have an evening shift some days while the other person works a day shift some days.

You will have two consecutive days off together to explore the area, hike, kayak, participate in this unusual and highly unique but remote Big Sur community. Town for resupplying your home is approx one to one and half hours drive away. Must have reliable transportation.

Compensation: $14/hour each to start, plus highly subsidized on premises housing. Some approved Overtime depending on shifts..

Housing: We offer a studio aparment. It has a full bath and kitchen with a studio/bed area. Outside deck with partial ocean views. $500 includes water, gas, trash, . Does not include telephone. Also cell phones do not work here! There is an office phone for quick calls and a payphone outside the lodge. Wifi is limited, (TIP: most of our full time, long term staff rent their own Satellite for internet, alot of them also order NETFLIX to watch on TV for those darker winter nites) .

once my dear children finally depart our home me and the hubby would likely try to work together. We have in the past, actually do now occasionally as security officers. I'm going to convince him to work on a cruise ship with me. :)
