Hey Ninja, ILY, really, just have been occupied with a couple of things the last two days. Today for his birthday with a friend of our family, the one credited for beginning a large part of my faith transition, I was able to frame up a very large tree house, and pretty darned efficiently. It gives me all kinds of hope of being able to pursue some self reliance in the future. I figure it's very relevant to lifestyle goals of permaculture.

Damn impressive! I wish I learned or wanted to learn more about building and how to use tools when I was younger. I was only interested in lazy things. I thought about learning basics, then I started cooking instead, to be fulfilled.
It really looks great!! Very impressive! Can't wait to see the finished project!!!

There's something so viscerally satisfying about building something, isn't there? I wonder if that's a more masculine trait or if that happens to men and women. I know that all the guys I know have said something to the same effect, that working in the shop (whether it's on cars, construction, whatever), just scratches that little manly urge. Maybe it increases testosterone production.
Either way, it's looking good so far!

Key: Remember to cut the lumber to account for the length and width added by the vertical faces of the posts! I have to put a 7-inch strip of plywood down the middle to account for this. Anyhow, it's all screwed in. I just need to bolt in the slide, and stretch tarp across a couple of poles to make a roof. Everything from here is trim.
